Armenia Urges Acceleration of Delimitation Process with Azerbaijan
Armenia’s Foreign Ministry responds to Azerbaijan’s claims. In a statement from the spokesperson of the Armenian Foreign Ministry, Ani Badalyan, Armenia has suggested that Azerbaijan expedite the delimitation process based on the Prague agreement of October 6, 2022. The statement emphasizes Armenia's commitment to the agreement and its willingness to engage in the process.
The suggestion comes in response to a comment made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan regarding Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's speech during the Government session on February 15. Ani Badalyan points out that both Azerbaijan and Armenia, on October 6, 2022, in Prague, mutually recognized each other's territorial integrity and sovereignty. This recognition was established on the foundation of the 1991 Alma-Ata declaration, with the understanding that the Alma-Ata declaration would serve as the political basis for the demarcation process.
"We suggest Azerbaijan accelerate the delimitation process based on this agreement, and we reiterate the willingness of the Republic of Armenia," stated Ani Badalyan in the released statement.
This diplomatic call from Armenia highlights the importance of adhering to the agreements made in Prague and advancing the delimitation process as a crucial step in maintaining regional stability.
