Updated: Dec 26, 2023

Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports of Armenia, Daniel Danielyan, unveiled statistics during Monday's year-end press conference. He revealed that Armenian films made a remarkable mark in prestigious international competitions and festivals, receiving 28 awards across 10 films this year—a substantial increase of 74% in participation compared to previous years.

Highlighting the nation's growing presence on the global cinematic stage, Danielyan expressed pride in the substantial recognition garnered by Armenian films worldwide. He emphasized that these accolades signify a pivotal turning point for Armenian cinema, marking a notable elevation in its quality and global appeal.
One of the significant advancements, according to Danielyan, is the recent amendments to the Law on Cinematography, aimed at enhancing clarity and accessibility for foreign collaborators. This move is intended to facilitate smoother interactions and collaborations with international partners, further strengthening Armenia's reputation as a reliable contributor in the film production sector.
Asserting Armenia's expanding influence in the cinematic realm, Danielyan revealed that the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports has initiated strategic collaborations with several international organizations. As a result of these partnerships, there are prospects for a jointly produced Armenian film to debut on Netflix, marking a significant milestone for Armenian cinema's global exposure.
Additionally, Danielyan highlighted the government's commitment to extending support and opportunities beyond the capital city, stressing the significance of including Armenia's provinces in various cultural programs and events. This inclusive approach aims to nurture talent and creativity across all regions of the country.
