Azerbaijan Opens Fire On U.S. Affiliated Facility in Yeraskh
On June 13, 2023, at 6:30pm, shots were fired from the rival combat positions towards a newly constructed affiliated facility in Yeraskh settlement of Ararat community, Ararat region. The shots were fired out of racial, national, ethnic hatred, intolerance, or hostility, posing a danger to many people's lives, with the intent to illegally deprive one or several persons of life, and to spoil or destroy property. As a result, a parked "VAZ 2106" car inside the factory premises was damaged. Fortunately, there were no people in the area of the shooting direction, averting any human casualties. The Investigative Committee of Armenia reported this incident.
A criminal proceeding has been initiated in the Eighth Garrison Investigative Unit of the General Military Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee.
During the preliminary investigation, an inspection of the scene revealed marks from a large-caliber firearm on the concrete pillar located in the area of the newly constructed Armenian-American metallurgical factory. Additionally, the administrative building and a "Kamaz" car owned by the LLC parked at the construction site were also damaged. Another "VAZ 2106" car belonging to an employee of the factory, with a damaged rear window, was found in the factory's parking lot. The damaged properties did not have any military significance.
During the inspection, an item resembling a ball fired from a large-caliber firearm was discovered and taken into evidence.
Several individuals were questioned in connection with the incident, and decisions were made to commission forensic merchandising, forensic ballistic, and forensic trace expertise.
The preliminary investigation is still ongoing.
