Ukraine Signals Support for Armenia's Possible Inclusion in the Baltic Black Sea Defence Alliance
Ukraine has conveyed its backing for the potential participation of Armenia in the Baltic Black Sea Defence Alliance, a move that signifies a strengthening of ties between the two nations in matters of regional security.
In an exclusive interview with AnalitikaUA, Mykhail Podoliak, advisor to the chief of staff of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s Office, emphasized the importance of Armenian political engagement and dialogue, indicating Ukraine's favorable stance toward Armenia's potential involvement in the Baltic Black Sea Defence Alliance.
When asked about the prospect of Armenia joining the alliance, Podolyak expressed optimism, stating that the alliance's doors should remain open for Armenia. He stressed the necessity to establish legal and logistical frameworks to facilitate Armenia's inclusion. "Armenian politicians must engage in dialogue," Podolyak emphasized.
Expressing confidence in Armenia's ability to overcome its existing challenges, Podolyak underlined the significance of Armenians worldwide placing trust in their nation. He highlighted Ukraine's view that Armenia is currently on the right trajectory, exhibiting a strategy of intensive dialogue with NATO countries like the UK, US, and France, nations that historically share amicable relations with Armenia.
"The strategy that I now clearly see in Armenia’s stance is the intensive dialogue with NATO countries UK, US, and France, with whom historically there’s always been good dialogue," Podolyak remarked, acknowledging Armenia's proactive efforts in fostering diplomatic relations with key NATO member states.
