19-Year-Old Alexandra Grigoryan Becomes European Senior Weightlifting Champion
19-year-old Armenian weightlifter Alexandra Grigoryan has won the European senior weightlifting championship in Sofia, Bulgaria. This victory is a significant milestone in Grigoryan's career as she takes the European champion title for the first time.
Competing in the 55 kg category, Grigoryan showcased her skill with a remarkable total of 196 kg in the two-lift event.
Grigoryan's exceptional abilities were further highlighted as she claimed a gold medal in the push-up exercise, effortlessly hoisting a 115 kg barbell overhead. In the snatch exercise, she lifted an 81 kg barbell, solidifying her dominance in the competition.
Isabela Yailyan, another representative of Armenia in the same weight category and European bronze medalist, secured the 7th place with a total result of 180 kg.
The anticipation builds for the upcoming performance of Gor Sahakyan (67 kg), the champion of the European Championship held in Yerevan, scheduled to take the stage on February 14.
