Artur Davtyan's Pursuit for Olympic Gold
Artur Davtyan, a star gymnast from Armenia, has once again proven his exceptional skills by advancing to the finals of the Paris Olympics. The men’s gymnastics qualifying round took place at the Bercy Gymnasium in Paris, where Davtyan secured his spot in the pole vault finals by finishing in 7th place with a score of 14.666 points.
Davtyan is no stranger to success. At the Tokyo Olympics, he earned a bronze medal with a final score of 14.733 points. His impressive track record includes being a world champion, a two-time European champion, a European Games champion, and a two-time World Cup winner. In the 2022 World Championship held in Liverpool, Davtyan won the title with an outstanding score of 15.050 points. He continued his winning streak in 2023 by claiming the European Championship in Antalya with 15.033 points and the World Cup with 15.166 points.
The pole vault final featuring Artur Davtyan is scheduled for August 4th at 6:25pm local time. Fans are eagerly awaiting to see if he can add an Olympic gold medal to his already impressive collection of accolades.
Vahagn Davtyan Reaches Rings Final
Another Armenian gymnast making headlines is Vahagn Davtyan. The two-time European vice-champion and World Cup winner has advanced to the finals of the rings exercise at the Paris Olympics. Competing in the same Bercy Gymnasium, Vahagn secured his spot in the finals by finishing 7th in the qualifying round with a score of 14.733 points.
Vahagn Davtyan's journey to the final is a testament to his dedication and skill. The final of the rings exercise, featuring Vahagn, is set to take place on August 4th at 5pm Yerevan time. This event promises to be a thrilling showcase of gymnastics, with Armenia hoping for a podium finish.
Elmira Karapetyan’s Shooting Performance
Elmira Karapetyan represented Armenia in the women’s 10-meter air pistol competition at the 33rd Summer Olympic Games in France. Competing at the National Central Shooting Range in Châteauroux, Elmira narrowly missed the finals by finishing in 9th place with a total score of 576 points. Her consistent performance, scoring 94, 98, 93, 97, 98, and 96 points in her 60 shots.
Only the top 8 shooters advanced to the finals, but Elmira’s performance remains commendable and shows her as one of the top competitors in her discipline.
Varsenik Manucharyan’s Swimming Debut
In swimming, Varsenik Manucharyan made her Olympic debut in the 100-meter butterfly event. The young Armenian swimmer competed in the first heat, recording a time of 1:01.24. Despite her strong effort, Varsenik finished 26th out of 32 participants and did not advance past the qualifying stage. The top 16 swimmers moved on to the semi-finals, with China’s Yufei Zhang, the Tokyo Olympic silver medalist, leading the pack with a time of 56.50 seconds.
Although Varsenik did not make it to the next round, her participation in the Olympics at just 21 years old is an achievement in itself and sets the stage for future successes.
