Armen Melikbekyan Re-elected as President of Football Federation of Armenia Despite Controversy

Armen Melikbekyan has been chosen once more to lead the Football Federation of Armenia (FFA) as its President. In a recent election, he received support from 20 members of the FFA Executive Committee, securing his position at the top.

Another contender, a player from the Armenian national team, also aimed for the FFA presidency but only managed to get three votes.

Expressing their thoughts on the election, the "Pyunik" football club thanked everyone who cared about the future of Armenian football. They had discussions highlighting the issues they saw with the current FFA leadership. The club had hoped for a different outcome, especially with the support shown for Aras Ozbilis by well-known Armenian athletes like Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Karen Khachanov, and Levon Aronian, who understand the importance of strong leadership for the country.

Despite their efforts, the "Pyunik" club felt that the election was predetermined. The results didn't match their expectations, and they believe that the hard work and desires of the people were disregarded.

However, the club remains committed to improving Armenian football. They aim to enhance the sport both on and off the field and will persist in advocating for fairness and success in football.

Ending their statement on a positive note, "Pyunik" FC emphasized football's ability to unite people worldwide. They pledged to continue their efforts to secure a brighter future for Armenian football, remaining an integral part of the global football community.
