Artur Aleksanyan Becomes Seven-Time Wrestling Champion of the European Championship

At the European Championship in Bucharest, Artur Aleksanyan, the formidable member of the Armenian Greco-Roman wrestling team and Olympic Games champion, clinched his seventh European Championship title. Competing in the final of the 97 kg weight category, Aleksanyan faced off against Magomed Murtazaliyev, who played under a neutral weight.

The high-stakes match concluded with Aleksanyan emerging victorious with a 6:3 score, solidifying his status as a seven-time champion of the European Championship. 

This win adds another remarkable chapter to Aleksanyan's distinguished career. The Armenian wrestling sensation boasts a collection of Olympic accolades, including gold, silver, and bronze medals. In the World Championships arena, he has secured the title four times (2014, 2015, 2017, 2022). On the European stage, Aleksanyan now proudly holds seven gold medals from championships spanning 2012 to 2024.
