Azerbaijan Violates Ceasefire, Targeting Verin Shorzha and Sotk in Armenia

Overnight on June 21 and 22, at about 10:55 p.m. to 12:45 a.m., units of the Azerbaijani armed forces opened fire from different caliber small arms against Armenian combat positions located in the eastern part of the frontier zone, specifically targeting Verin Shorzha and Sotk, according to a report by the Armenian Defense Ministry.

As of the latest report, there are no reported casualties from the Armenian side.


The incident marks a violation of the existing ceasefire agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan, raising concerns about regional security and stability in the region.


Armenia's Defense Ministry has reported the ceasefire violation to the command of the Russian peacekeeping troops stationed in the region.


The situation remains closely monitored by international observers and stakeholders as tensions continue to persist along the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
