Azerbaijani Armed Forces Attacked Armenian Community Killing Four  Soldiers and Wounding Six Others

Azerbaijani armed forces attacked Armenian community of Tegh killing four Armenian soldiers and wounding six others.


Azerbaijani military units opened fire around 4pm local time, April 11 at Armenian servicemen who were conducting engineering work in the direction of Tegh community, the Ministry of Defense of Armenia (MoD) confirmed.


MoD said that the Armenian military took countermeasures. The Azerbaijani side has many victims and wounded, reports MoD.


At 5:30pm local time, the Azerbaijani Armed Forces continued to fire at the Armenian side.

"The Azerbaijani Armed Forces continue the provocation. At around 5:30pm, the units of Azerbaijani armed forces used mortars in the same direction. Armenian Armed Forces are taking necessary defensive measures,” MoD informed.


In addition to firing at Tegh community, the armed forces of Azerbaijan also fired at the Armenian positions located in the Sotk section of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border around the same time, as a result of which the work of the Sotk gold mine was stopped, the employees were evacuated.


As of 8:30pm local time, the situation on the frontline is relatively stable.


"The information about shelling in the direction of Vardenis at the moment does not correspond to the reality, the situation in the mentioned direction is relatively stable at the moment. The information spread by Azerbaijani media about the alleged use of Iranian drones by the Armenian side does not correspond to reality. There are no Iranian drones in the arsenal of the Armenian Armed Forces," the Ministry also added.
