British-Armenian footballer Finn Geragusian has signed his first professional contract with Sunderland after a breakout season in the English club’s academy.
The 18-year-old striker scored 13 goals and provided three assists across Sunderland’s youth teams last season, earning him the club’s Under-21 Player of the Season award.
Geragusian also helped Sunderland’s Under-21 team reach the Premier League Cup final, adding to a season that saw him make progress at both the club and international level.
In March, Geragusian earned his first call-up to Armenia’s senior national team and made his international debut against Belarus.

“Finn has made massive progress over the last couple of seasons and that is testament to his hard-working attitude,” Sunderland Head of Academy John Hewitson said. “We are delighted that he will be continuing his progression at the club.”
Geragusian had already represented Armenia at the youth level before joining the senior national team. His development at Sunderland has also brought him closer to the club’s first team as he continues his rise through the English football system.
The professional contract keeps Geragusian at Sunderland as he works toward the next stage of his career and a possible senior debut for the club.
