Gor Sahakyan Becomes Two-Time Champion at European Weightlifting Championship

Gor Sahakyan, the Armenian weightlifting sensation, claimed his second consecutive European championship title on the second day of the European Weightlifting Championship in Sofia, Bulgaria.


Competing in the fiercely contested 67 kg category, Sahakyan clinched the gold medal on February 13. This victory comes hot on the heels of his inaugural European championship win in the 55 kg category, where he triumphed with a remarkable 196 kg result.


Sahakyan also secured a small gold medal in the push-up exercise, effortlessly lifting a 115 kg barbell above his head. In the snatch exercise, he demonstrated his finesse by hoisting an 81 kg barbell.


Another notable Armenian athlete in the same weight category, Isabela Yailyan, the European bronze medalist, secured the 7th place with a commendable result of 180 kg in the doubles.
