Iran Fires Missiles at Israel, Some Seen Over Armenian Quarter in Jerusalem

Iran has fired missiles at Israel in a major attack on Friday, June 13. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard said it targeted many military sites and airbases across the country in response to Israeli strikes the night before.

Video shared with The Armenian Report shows missiles flying over the Armenian Quarter in Jerusalem. Other videos show explosions in Tel Aviv and large plumes of smoke rising in the city. Local reports say at least seven people were lightly injured.

Iran says it launched the attack after Israel sent 200 fighter jets to hit 100 sites in Iran overnight. Iranian state media reports 78 people were killed and over 300 injured in those strikes, but official numbers have not been confirmed by either side.

A senior Iranian official told Reuters, “Our revenge has just started. They will pay a high price for killing our commanders, scientists, and people.”

This is a dangerous moment for the region, including Armenian communities living in conflict zones like Jerusalem.
