Armenian Greco-Roman wrestler Malkhas Amoyan clinched his third consecutive gold medal at the European Championship. The win came as Amoyan faced off against Turkish athlete Emre Basar in the final of the 77 kg weight category in Bucharest, Romania.



Amoyan's performance in the final match resulted in a resounding victory, with a decisive 7:0 score, solidifying his status as a three-time European champion. The Armenian wrestler had previously claimed the European title in 2022 and 2023, adding to his impressive track record as the 2021 World Champion.


With this latest victory, Malkhas Amoyan earned the coveted opportunity to represent Armenia at the upcoming 33rd Summer Olympic Games in Paris, showcasing his talents on the international stage.


Amidst Amoyan's success, Manvel Khachatryan also contributed to Armenia's medal tally, securing the bronze medal in the 55 kg weight category at the European Championship.
