The Armenian Report's Correspondent Stands Meters from Azerbaijani Military Posts in Nerkin Hand
In the aftermath of recent attacks by Azerbaijani armed forces in Syunik's Nerkin Hand, The Armenian Report's political correspondent, Ani Gevorgyan, traveled into the heart of the community to bring firsthand insights into the situation.
Standing mere meters away from Azerbaijani military posts, Gevorgyan sheds light on the ground reality in the Nerkin Hand community of Syunik Province. Gevorgyan provides a glimpse into the challenging circumstances faced by the locals in the wake of the attacks that claimed the lives of four Armenian servicemen.
"Dear readers of The Armenian Report, we are currently filming in the Nerkin Hand community of Syunik Province. As you can see, the enemy's positions are approximately 400-500 meters away from the houses," Gevorgyan reports.
Despite the direct targeting of the village by the enemy, the resilient villagers remain steadfast. Around a hundred families call Nerkin Hand home, and they express a collective determination to remain in the face of provocations.
"The villagers say that the village is directly targeted by the enemy, but no one is going to leave from here. Only demand here is that an order be given to push back the enemy who advanced in this direction in 2022," shares Gevorgyan.
The Armenian servicemen who were killed and injured on February 13 by Azerbaijani armed servicemen in the Nerkin Hand village of Syunik Province were hit from positions within the territory of Armenia, specifically from areas that were invaded by Azerbaijani forces. Arman Tatoyan, the former Human Rights Defender (ombudsman) of Armenia has confirmed.
