US Senator Bob Menendez Urges Congress to Address Ongoing Azerbaijani Threats Targeting Armenia

US Senator Bob Menendez (D-N.J.) delivered a speech on Monday on the Senate floor, highlighting the urgent need to address the persistent threats faced by Armenia amidst the ongoing humanitarian crisis. In his address, Sen. Menendez emphasized the necessity for Congress to withdraw support for the Azerbaijani government, hold responsible for perpetuating the ongoing assault on Armenia.


Sen. Menendez reiterated the imperative for nations to stand in solidarity with their allies in the pursuit of justice for victims, while adhering to human rights principles and the laws of war. He emphasized the significance of the United States' response to these conflicts, emphasizing the need to utilize the country's position as a moral authority for promoting goodwill and delivering crucial aid to affected regions.


"Wherever assaults are launched without warning - whether it’s Russia’s unprovoked war in Ukraine, Azerbaijan’s invasion of Nagorno-Karabakh, or Hamas’ barbaric terrorist attack on Israel - we must always stand with our allies," stated Sen. Menendez during his Senate address.


Drawing attention to the critical situation in Armenia, Sen. Menendez pressed for a focused response to address the persistent threats faced by the country. Stressing the necessity for immediate action, he urged his colleagues to prioritize supporting Armenia in this critical period of continued vulnerability.


"The eyes of the world are watching how the United States responds to these conflicts. As we have done so many times before, we must leverage our position as a moral authority for good," asserted Sen. Menendez, stressing the importance of offering aid to affected regions and reinforcing support for Armenia.
