Wendy’s, one of the most famous American fast food chains, is officially making its way to Armenia. This announcement is a new chapter for the country’s growing economy and evolving food culture, as Wen Restaurant LLC has signed an exclusive agreement to open 20 Wendy’s restaurants in Armenia by the year 2030. The first location is expected to open in the heart of Yerevan.
This isn’t just another fast food expansion—it’s a strategic partnership that shows the Armenian business community’s increasing participation in global markets. Wen Restaurant LLC, a well-established leader in Armenia’s food, retail, and hospitality sectors, will lead this project. The company brings years of local experience, a strong understanding of consumer needs, and a deep commitment to delivering quality.
The arrival of Wendy’s represents much more than just new dining options. It’s a signal that major international brands see Armenia as a stable, promising, and attractive place to invest. Armenia’s capital, Yerevan, has grown significantly over the past decade, with new restaurants, cafes, and international chains opening across the city. This new partnership adds to that momentum, offering jobs, training, and new opportunities for Armenian workers and entrepreneurs.

Hrant Grigoryan, CEO of Wen Restaurant LLC, said that he is confident in the brand's success in Armenia. “We are proud to introduce Wendy’s to consumers in Armenia. Wendy’s is an iconic brand with proven success and untapped potential in the region. We are confident that Armenian consumers will embrace Wendy’s high-quality, fresh food, and we look forward to delivering the exceptional customer experiences that will create lifelong brand fans across the country.”
The restaurants will be tailored to meet local tastes while maintaining the quality that Wendy’s is known for—fresh burgers, Spicy Chicken sandwiches, chicken nuggets, and the popular Frosty dessert.
This announcement is also part of Wendy’s global strategy. The company is expanding aggressively outside the United States, with plans to open 2,000 international restaurants by 2028. Armenia is now officially part of that global map. According to E.J. Wunsch, President of International at The Wendy’s Company, “We are thrilled to partner with Wen Restaurant to bring Wendy’s fresh, famous food and unmatched hospitality to local communities in Armenia. Earlier this year, I shared that 70 percent of our expansion will occur outside the United States, with plans to reach 2,000 international restaurants by 2028.”
This growth strategy fits well with Armenia’s goals of attracting foreign direct investment, strengthening its economy, and providing its citizens with world-class experiences and services.
Over the next five years, 20 Wendy’s locations will open across Armenia. Each one will bring jobs, training programs, and exposure to global hospitality standards. With Wendy’s modern design, commitment to fresh ingredients, and focus on customer experience, it could set a new standard in Armenia’s fast food scene.
This is a big moment for Armenia—not just because of burgers and fries, but because of what it represents. Wendy’s arrival is a sign of confidence in the country’s future and its people. Armenia is ready for the world—and the world is taking notice.
