Armenian actor Edgar Damatian is being promoted for Emmy Awards consideration for his performance in “A Winter's Song”, a film that shows Armenia's culture, music, and traditions to a global audience.
A recently launched "For Your Consideration" (FYC) campaign shows Damatian in the category of Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series, Movie or Special. The campaign is part of the Emmy Awards process and encourages members of the Television Academy to review and consider his performance during the nomination voting period.
While the campaign places Damatian among the performers being considered for television's highest honors, it does not mean he has been officially nominated for an Emmy Award. Television Academy members will vote to determine the final list of nominees, which will be announced later this year.
In “A Winter's Song”, Damatian portrays David, one of the central characters in a story that follows a struggling musician who travels to Armenia in search of inspiration and a renewed connection to her art. As she explores the country, she becomes immersed in its landscapes, customs, and creative spirit, embarking on a journey of personal transformation.
The film brings Armenia's heritage to international audiences through its depiction of the country's traditions, music, and culture. The Armenian Report also had the opportunity to capture behind-the-scenes moments during production, offering viewers a closer look at the making of the project.
The film was written, produced, and directed by Angela Asatrian and brought to life by a creative team that includes producer and editor Yvette M. Amirian ACE, producer Edgar Damatian, and numerous members of the Armenian community.
For the filmmakers, “A Winter's Song” represents more than a cinematic project. It is an opportunity to celebrate Armenian identity and share stories rooted in Armenian culture with audiences around the world. Damatian's inclusion in the Emmy Awards consideration campaign marks another milestone for a production that has sought to bring Armenian voices and experiences to the international screen.
