Aramayis Harutyunyan Wins Gold at U23 European Wrestling Championships

Armenian wrestler Aramayis Harutyunyan has won the gold medal at the Under-23 European Wrestling Championships in the 130 kg weight category, continuing Armenia’s strong performance at the tournament.
In the final bout, Harutyunyan faced Hungary’s Laszlo Darabosh. The match ended with a 1–1 score, but the Armenian wrestler secured the victory under the competition rules and stepped onto the top of the podium as the European champion.
Harutyunyan reached the final after a confident run through the earlier stages of the tournament. In the semifinal, the 21-year-old athlete delivered a dominant performance, defeating Ukraine’s Ivan Yankovskyi with a convincing 6–0 score.
Before reaching the final match, Harutyunyan recorded an impressive overall record in the competition. He won three bouts on his way to the championship match with a combined score of 15–1, demonstrating strong form throughout the tournament.
His victory adds another important achievement for Armenia’s under-23 wrestling team, which has continued to deliver strong results at the European Championships.
By winning the final against Darabosh, Harutyunyan secured the European title in the heavyweight division and claimed the gold medal for Armenia.
