Armenia Appoints Diplomat Karen Israyelyan as Consul General in Los Angeles (Glendale)

Armenia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced the appointment of Karen Israyelyan as the Consul General of Armenia in Los Angeles (based at the Glendale Consulate General of the Republic of Armenia), according to an official order by the Minister of Foreign Affairs. Although Israyelyan commenced his role as Consul General at the Glendale Consulate General of the Republic of Armenia earlier this summer, the official announcement was made today, recognizing his new diplomatic responsibilities.
Israyelyan brings a wealth of experience to his new position. His extensive diplomatic background includes significant roles in various capacities within Armenia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and diplomatic missions abroad. Notably, he served as Deputy Head and Acting Head of the State Protocol Service of Armenia, Counselor at the Secretariat of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Counselor and Deputy Head of Mission of Armenia to the EU in Brussels.
In addition to his European assignments, Israyelyan has held key positions in Armenia's diplomatic missions in the United States and the United Kingdom. He served as the First Secretary at the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in the USA, based in Washington D.C., and as the Second Secretary at the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in the United Kingdom, located in London.
Educationally, Israyelyan earned a Master’s degree with Distinction in Diplomatic Studies from the Diplomatic Academy of London, Westminster University. He also holds a scientific degree of Candidate of Philological Sciences (PhD) from Yerevan State University and has completed post-graduate studies in Iranian Studies at the same institution. His rich educational background reflects his commitment to academic excellence and his dedication to the field of international relations.
Israyelyan, who holds the diplomatic rank of Senior Counselor, is fluent in multiple languages, including English, Russian, Persian, and French. He is a married father of two, with a daughter and a son.
His appointment as Consul General in Los Angeles is seen as a testament to his exceptional diplomatic skills and extensive knowledge of international relations.
