Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia Hold First-Ever Trilateral Talks

Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia held their first-ever trilateral talks in Tbilisi this week. For the first time, deputy foreign ministers from all three neighboring countries sat at the same table to discuss peaceful cooperation and a better future for the region.


This meeting is an important shift — a hopeful sign that these countries, which have faced years of tension and conflict, especially between Armenia and Azerbaijan, are ready to explore new paths of working together.

The discussions focused on understanding each other’s visions and finding common ground. According to the statement, the diplomats shared their ideas openly and talked about possible future collaborations that respect every country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

In recent months, Georgia has taken on a more active role in helping Armenia and Azerbaijan find peace after years of conflict. Georgian leaders have expressed a strong interest in seeing their neighbors settle disputes through diplomacy and mutual respect.

Earlier this week, Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili visited Baku and voiced optimism that Armenia and Azerbaijan could soon sign a peace treaty. He also announced that he will be visiting Armenia later this month, showing Georgia’s commitment to continuing its support for peace efforts in the region.
