Armenia Makes Shooting History With Two World Champions and Six Medals

Armenia celebrated a breakthrough day at the ISSF World Championship Moving Target in Tallinn, Estonia, as Aida Azatyan won the junior women's world title and the national team collected six medals, including two individual golds.

Azatyan claimed the gold medal in the junior women's moving target mixed runs event with a score of 379 points, becoming a world champion in one of the competition's most demanding disciplines. She later added a second medal, teaming up with Anahit Sargsyan and Lilit Mkrtchyan to earn silver in the junior women's team event with a combined score of 1,095 points.

The success came alongside another landmark victory for Armenia. Hayk Minasyan captured gold in the men's moving target mixed runs event, securing the first senior world championship gold medal in the history of Armenian shooting.

The Armenian team continued its strong performance in the team competitions, earning two more podium finishes.

Lilit Mkrtchyan, Arusyak Grigoryan and Mari Ghazaryan took bronze in the women's moving target mixed runs team event with a total of 1,056 points.

In the junior men's team competition, Hamlet Karenyan, Manvel Mirzoyan and Gor Martirosyan also won bronze after finishing with 995 points.

The ISSF World Championship Moving Target is being held in Tallinn from July 20-26.

Armenia's results on the opening day marked one of the country's most successful performances ever at the world championships, with two individual world champions and four additional team medals.
