Armenian tennis player Elina Avanesyan has claimed the ITF W100 Zagreb championship, continuing her impressive rise on the international circuit with a dominant performance in Croatia.


Avanesyan secured the title on Sunday after defeating Sweden's Kajsa Rinaldo Persson in straight sets, 6-1, 6-3, in the tournament final. The Armenian star controlled the match from start to finish, wrapping up the victory in just 1 hour and 7 minutes.


The triumph capped a strong week for Avanesyan on the clay courts of Zagreb, where she produced a series of convincing performances against a competitive international field.
