Armenia's Minister of Foreign Affairs Inaugurates New Embassy Building in the UK
The Embassy of Armenia in the United Kingdom hosted a reception to mark the visit of Armenia's Minister of Foreign Affairs, a significant event celebrating the inauguration of the new embassy building and the launch of the Armenia-UK Strategic Dialogue.

During the gathering, Minister of Foreign Affairs Ararat Mirzoyan, UK's Director for Eastern Europe and Central Asia Division Chris Allan, and Armenian Ambassador to the UK Varuzhan Nersisyan delivered speeches affirming mutual commitment and shared values between the nations.
Minister Mirzoyan highlighted the profound ties between Armenia and the UK, recognizing 32 years of diplomatic relations and historic bonds dating back centuries. Emphasizing the importance of the new embassy building, he underlined its role in deepening cooperation in politics, economics, and cultural exchange. Mirzoyan also announced the launch of the Armenia-UK Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement, further solidifying their collaboration.
In his address, Minister Mirzoyan outlined Armenia's ongoing commitment to democracy, acknowledging the UK's support and underlining Armenia's resilience despite ongoing challenges. He introduced the 'Crossroads of Peace' project, emphasizing its role in infrastructural development to connect North to South and West to East, ultimately fostering regional connectivity and cooperation.
Simultaneously, the UK Minister for Europe, Leo Docherty, expressed the UK's dedication to fostering closer trade and security relations with Armenia. He highlighted the need for direct peace negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan for long-term regional stability. Docherty praised Armenia's responsible approach to peace-building and regional development while affirming the UK's support for Armenia's democratic reforms and governance initiatives.
The UK's continued financial support for humanitarian aid and development projects in Armenia, amounting to £1.8 million this fiscal year, further underscored the commitment to fostering inclusivity, innovation, and economic growth in Armenia.
The dialogue coincided with the opening of the new Armenian embassy in London, marking an expansion of diplomatic services and reflecting the growing diplomatic ties between the UK and Armenia.
Docherty's upcoming visit to Yerevan aims to build on the positive momentum generated during the Strategic Dialogue, further strengthening the bilateral relationship between the two nations.
