Armenia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said there is currently no information about citizens of the Republic of Armenia being among the victims of the ongoing situation in the Middle East. The statement was reported by the press secretary of the RA Foreign Minister, Ani Badalyan.
According to official information, in order to promptly respond to questions of concern to citizens, hotlines are operating, providing updated information about possible changes to flights. The ministry said these hotlines are helping Armenians receive timely updates as flight schedules continue to change.
Due to the situation in the Middle East, the cancellation and delay of transit flights have created difficulties for many citizens of the Republic of Armenia. Many Armenians traveling through regional hubs have been affected, with some unable to return home or continue their journeys because of suspended connections.
The spokesperson of the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs presented clarifications regarding the steps being taken and the situation of citizens. Authorities are closely monitoring developments and working to address travel disruptions on a case-by-case basis.
It is noted that special attention is being given to a group of 92 Armenian students studying in the United Arab Emirates. The Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in the UAE is maintaining operative contact with both the students and university administrations, providing necessary guidance. Officials said the embassy is staying in regular communication to ensure the students’ safety and to assist them if needed.
In addition to those in the region, there are citizens who are unable to return to Armenia from countries outside the Middle East due to the cancellation of transit flights passing through the area. Individual work is being carried out with them. The ministry said each case is being reviewed separately in order to find possible solutions.
Despite the tension, the embassies of the Republic of Armenia in Iran and Israel continue their activities as normal. It is noteworthy that there has not yet been a large flow of applications from RA citizens currently in those countries. Officials indicated that the situation remains manageable at this time.
According to official information, diplomatic missions of the Republic of Armenia in Middle Eastern countries have begun operating in a 24-hour emergency mode. At this time, active discussions are underway with major airlines, including FlyOne, flydubai, Air Arabia, and Qatar Airways, to find possible flight options and facilitate the process.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has conducted a needs assessment and remains in constant contact with partners in the countries where Armenian citizens are located. Officials said efforts are ongoing to reduce travel disruptions and ensure that Armenian citizens receive the necessary support during this period of uncertainty.
