Armenia Sweeps Azerbaijan 3-0 to Open Billie Jean King Cup Campaign

Armenia opened its Billie Jean King Cup campaign with a commanding 3–0 victory over Azerbaijan in the first round of Group III competition in San Marino.

The Armenian team secured the tie through dominant performances in both singles and doubles matches. Ani Amiraghyan delivered a flawless 6–0, 6–0 win, while Elina Avanesyan followed with a 6–3, 6–2 victory to give Armenia an unassailable lead.

In the doubles match, Maria Azizyan and Alina Soghomonyan completed the clean sweep, defeating their Azerbaijani opponents 6–2, 6–1.

The result gives Armenia a strong start in the international women’s team tennis tournament, widely regarded as the premier global team competition in women’s tennis.
