As the situation in the Middle East intensifies, the Armenian Ambassador to Israel is actively working with Israeli officials to bring home a group of Armenian tourists currently stranded in Jerusalem due to recent airspace closures.
According to Jerusalem Tour, the Armenian travel agency that organized the trip, the group consists of 17 tourists who had planned to return to Armenia on June 17. The tourist group includes a Belgian citizen of Armenian heritage as well. However, flight cancellations and tightened border controls following Israel’s military operations have left the group stuck.

“We were asked to send the names and passport details of all the tourists,” said a spokesperson for Jerusalem Tour.
On Sunday, the travel agency explained that they were waiting to see if Israel’s airspace would reopen by June 17. “If the airspace is opened, we hope the tourists can return then. If not, we will reach out to the Armenian Embassy again to figure out another plan.”
Armenia has previously organized such measures during times of conflict in the region, particularly for Armenian nationals visiting or living in the Holy Land. The situation serves as a reminder of the fragile realities in the region and the importance of diplomatic presence.
In a statement to The Armenian Report, the spokesperson for Armenia’s Foreign Ministry Ani Badalyan told us, “The Armenian Embassy in Israel is in contact with a group of tourists who are Armenian citizens in Bethlehem, work is underway, and we will also address the public according to developments.”
