Armenian-American Composer Ari Balouzian Nominated for Critics Choice Documentary Award

Armenian-American composer Ari Balouzian has been nominated for Best Music Score at the 2026 Critics Choice Documentary Awards for his work on You Can See Everything, a documentary released by A24.
The Critics Choice Association announced the nominations Tuesday, October 13, placing Balouzian among six contenders in the category. His fellow nominees include Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer, who shares a nomination with Niccolò Pacella and George Hutson Warren for Lion.
Directed by Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim, You Can See Everything follows Elizabeth Holmes, the disgraced founder of the blood-testing company Theranos, as she prepares to begin her prison sentence following her fraud conviction. What starts as a portrait of Holmes develops into a three-year examination of her life and the people surrounding her.
Balouzian's music helps build the film's uneasy atmosphere, adding tension to a documentary that moves between personal encounters, psychological suspense and dark humor.
The film received five nominations, including Best Documentary Feature, Best Director, Best Cinematography and Best Editing, making it one of the most recognized productions at this year's awards.
Balouzian, a classically trained Armenian-American musician, is also a member of the soul group Gabriels. His previous film work includes Some Kind of Heaven, Spermworld and Ren Faire. He was previously nominated for a Critics Choice Documentary Award for his work on Feels Good Man in 2020.
The winners will be announced November 8 at the Edison Ballroom in New York City. The ceremony recognizes achievements in documentary filmmaking across feature films, music, directing and other categories.
