Armenian Boxer Davit Chaloyan Wins First Match at 2024 Paris Olympics
Armenian boxer Davit Chaloyan has made a strong start at the 2024 Paris Olympics by winning his first match in the boxing tournament. Chaloyan, who is representing Armenia in the +92 kg weight class, achieved a victory over British boxer Delicious Ori with a score of 3:2.
In the initial round of the bout, Ori won all the judges' votes, putting Chaloyan at a disadvantage early on. However, Chaloyan turned the tide in the second round, where 3 out of 5 judges awarded him the round. By the third round, Chaloyan's performance secured him the win as 4 referees gave him the edge over Ori.
Davit Chaloyan has a notable background in boxing. He earned a silver medal in the super heavyweight category at the 2021 AIBA World Boxing Championships and has also competed in the 2022 European Amateur Boxing Championships.
