Armenian Veteran Sargis Stepanyan Wins Fourth World Para-Armwrestling Title

Armenian athlete and war veteran Sargis Stepanyan has won another major international title, adding to his long list of achievements in para-sports. On September 16, at the 27th World Para-Armwrestling Championship in Albena, Bulgaria, he became the World Champion in the up to 80 kg weight category.
The championship, held from September 10 to 23, brought together athletes from 58 countries. Stepanyan’s victory stood out in this highly competitive environment, making it especially meaningful.
This new title is the fourth World Champion gold medal of his career. Over the years, Stepanyan has also won the European Championship five times and claimed the World Cup twice. His consistent success has made him one of Armenia’s most decorated para-athletes.
Stepanyan is not only known for his sports victories but also for his life story. A former soldier, he was severely wounded during military service, which led him to a new path in sports. Through resilience and dedication, he turned his personal challenges into strength, representing Armenia with pride on the world stage.

Announcing his victory, Stepanyan wrote:
"I am pleased to inform you that at the 27th World Para-Armwrestling Championship, held on September 10–23 in Albena, Bulgaria, on September 16 I became the World Champion 🥇 in the up to 80 kg weight category.
The World Championship brought together representatives from 58 countries, which makes this victory even more valuable.
This is already my fourth World Champion title, and throughout my sporting career I have also become a five-time European Champion, as well as a two-time World Cup winner.
I sincerely thank you all for your support and trust. This victory belongs to you as well."
