Azerbaijan Violates Ceasefire in Artsakh's Martakert, Soldier Wounded
On June 22, at 1:00 p.m., the Azerbaijani Armed Forces violated the ceasefire in the direction of Martakert region by using firearms, according to a report by the Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Defense Army.
The incident resulted in the injury of a contract serviceman, identified as Mher Hakobyan, from the Artsakh side. Hakobyan was promptly evacuated for medical treatment.
The command of the Russian Peacekeeping Contingent has been notified about the ceasefire violation.
The situation in the region remains tense as Azerbaijan repeatedly keeps violating the ceasefire, raising concerns about the stability of the area following the 2020 Second Artsakh War.
Both Armenia and Azerbaijan have agreed to a ceasefire mediated by Russia, but violations have been reported intermittently, leading to casualties and potential risks to the delicate peace in the region.
The international community is closely monitoring the situation and calling for strict adherence to the ceasefire agreement to prevent further escalations and promote lasting peace in the territory.
