In a production reminiscent of the emotional grandeur of the Kohar Symphony Orchestra, the Armenian community is preparing for a cultural event unlike anything seen before on the West Coast. On Friday, September 12, 2025, the iconic Greek Theatre in Los Angeles will host the world premiere of "Echoes of Our Ancestors" — a musical and visual performance that aims to reawaken the soul of Armenian heritage on a global stage.
Presented by the People of Ar Cultural Foundation in association with USC Dornsife Institute of Armenian Studies, the event promises to be more than a concert — it is a cultural ritual, a celebration of memory, identity, and resilience through art.
Under the baton of internationally renowned Maestro Sergey Smbatyan, the evening will feature live orchestral music, traditional Armenian folk melodies, dance, immersive visuals, and symbolic storytelling that honor the Armenian journey through time — from the depths of loss to the beauty of survival.
“This is more than a performance — it’s a powerful reawakening of cultural pride,” says Arman Nshanian, Creative Director and Author of the project. “It’s a ritual of return — for our people and for anyone longing to remember their roots.”
The production brings together a powerful lineup of Armenian musical legends and rising stars, including:
Sona Rubenyan

Original music for the event has been composed by Andranik Berberyan, weaving modern orchestration with ancestral rhythms that speak to the collective Armenian spirit.
The event is co-produced by People of Ar Productions and Oscar Gold Productions, two groups committed to showcasing Armenian culture on the world stage through immersive storytelling and world-class performances.
The choice of the Greek Theatre — a venue known for hosting legendary acts under the stars — adds a profound layer of symbolism. For one night, this historic amphitheater will be transformed into a sacred space of remembrance, honoring the echoes of a people who have not only endured but flourished.
With the Armenian diaspora in Los Angeles and beyond yearning for opportunities to reconnect with their roots, Echoes of Our Ancestors is poised to be a landmark moment for the community — one that bridges generations, continents, and hearts.
