Elon Musk’s Starlink Donates 56 Satellite Internet Terminals to Strengthen Armenia’s Emergency Response

Armenia has expanded its emergency communications network after Starlink donated 56 satellite internet terminals to support disaster response and rescue operations across the country.

The donation was announced by High-Tech Industry Minister Mkhitar Hayrapetyan, who said the equipment was provided following discussions between the Armenian government and the U.S.-based satellite internet company.

The new terminals have already arrived in Armenia and will be transferred to the Ministry of Internal Affairs for use by the country's Rescue Service. Officials say the equipment will provide reliable, high-speed internet during natural disasters, rescue missions and other emergencies, especially when traditional communications networks are damaged, overloaded or unavailable.

The project was coordinated by Armenia's ministries of High-Tech Industry and Internal Affairs as part of the government's efforts to strengthen the country's emergency preparedness.

Starlink, operated by SpaceX, delivers broadband internet through a network of low Earth orbit satellites. The service has become an important tool for emergency responders around the world because it can quickly restore communications in areas where conventional infrastructure has failed.

The latest donation builds on an existing partnership between Starlink and Armenia. Earlier, the company supplied 110 satellite terminals that now provide internet access to thousands of students in schools across the country's remote communities.

Hayrapetyan said the Armenian government values its cooperation with Starlink and described the donation as another step toward improving the country's ability to respond to future emergencies while ensuring critical communication systems remain operational.
