Hamlet Manukyan Wins Gold Medal at Artistic Gymnastics World Cup in Doha

Reigning youth World and European Champion Hamlet Manukyan has claimed his second gold medal on the World Cup circuit.


At the fifth stage of the Artistic Gymnastics World Cup, held in Doha, Qatar, Manukyan delivered a flawless performance in the pommel horse final, scoring an impressive 14.700 points — the highest of the event. He had earlier scored 14.400 in the qualification round, comfortably advancing to the final.

This gold adds to his earlier World Cup victory in Croatia, where he also topped the pommel horse event during the fourth stage of the series.


Another Armenian gymnast, Mamikon Khachatryan, also reached the pommel horse final in Doha and finished in 7th place with a score of 13.166.


Several other top Armenian gymnasts advanced to the finals in this stage of the competition, including Olympic silver and bronze medalist, World Champion, two-time European Champion, and double World Cup winner Artur Davtyan. He is joined by two-time European silver medalist Vahagn Davtyan and double World University Games champion Artur Avetisyan.
