Iranian Foreign Minister Amir-Abdollahian Engages in High-Stakes Talks in Armenia, Emphasizes Regional Peace Initiatives

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian arrived in Armenia on a working visit, landing at Zvartnots International Airport in Yerevan. The primary agenda of his visit included meetings with key Armenian officials and discussions on regional peace initiatives, bilateral cooperation, and ongoing projects.

A scheduled tête-à-tête meeting between Amir-Abdollahian and Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Armenia, focusing on enhancing bilateral relations and discussing various issues of mutual interest. Subsequently, the foreign ministers of both countries held a joint press conference to address the outcomes of their talks.

During the joint press conference, Amir-Abdollahian expressed Iran's support for Armenia's "Crossroads of Peace" project, emphasizing Iran's commitment to establishing sustainable peace in the South Caucasus. He also welcomed the development of the North-South transit route, as proposed by the Armenian Prime Minister. Furthermore, discussions encompassed topics of regional significance, including the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace treaty, unblocking regional transport connections, and Iran's support for Armenia's "Crossroads of Peace" initiative based on principles of sovereignty, territorial integrity, equality, and reciprocity.

Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan met with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, where they discussed the importance of high-level contacts between the two nations. Pashinyan welcomed the mutual visits, emphasizing their significance in strengthening bilateral relations and mutual understanding in foreign policies.
