Russian-Armenian Professional Tennis Player Karen Khachanov Plays Charity Tournament
This weekend in Los Angeles, Russian-Armenian tennis player Karen Khachanov participated in a charity tournament in support of Artsakh.
The charity tournament was organized by Homentmen Glendale Ararat at the Burbank Tennis Center.
All proceeds from the event will be going to support Artsakh.
Khachanov attended the fundraiser and played in an exhibition match. He also held a master class with local kids.
The professional tennis player has won four ATP Tour singles titles, including a Masters 1000 title at the 2018 Paris Masters, has claimed an Olympic silver medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, and has reached two major semifinals at the 2022 US Open and 2023 Australian Open. He achieved his career-high singles ranking of world No. 8 in July 2019.
He was born to an Armenian father and Russian mother. Khachanov is a proud Armenian who publicly speaks up to end the ongoing Artsakh blockade.
