TUMO’s Largest International Center Opens in Buenos Aires

On July 3, TUMO officially opened its first center in South America in the heart of Buenos Aires, Argentina. With the capacity to serve 6,000 teens per week, it is now the largest TUMO Center in the world—a milestone for the Armenian-founded educational program that has grown into a global movement.

TUMO is a free-of-charge, after-school learning program originally founded in Yerevan, Armenia in 2011. It equips teenagers with 21st-century skills in areas like animation, game development, programming, music, robotics, graphic design, and filmmaking through a self-learning platform combined with workshops led by professionals. Since its launch, TUMO has expanded to cities around the world, including Paris, Berlin, Moscow, Tirana, Kyiv, and Beirut, bringing Armenia’s model of innovative education to thousands of young people.

The new Buenos Aires location was launched in partnership with the Ministry of Education of the City of Buenos Aires, signaling strong local support for advancing education in technology and the creative industries. The center is housed in the Centro Metropolitano de Diseño (CMD)—Latin America’s largest design hub. Spanning 14,000 square meters, CMD was built in the early 2000s and serves as a key space for workshops, exhibitions, and large-scale events promoting design and innovation.

This launch is a major step in TUMO’s global outreach, especially in Spanish-speaking countries. In a city as diverse and dynamic as Buenos Aires, TUMO aims to empower young people from all backgrounds with access to cutting-edge skills, regardless of socioeconomic status. Two additional centers are planned to open in the northern and southern districts of the city by 2026, expanding access to thousands more teens.
