Yvette M. Amirian Makes History as First Armenian Honored with ACE Eddie Award for Film Shot in Armenia

Film editor Yvette M. Amirian got an ACE Eddie Award for her work on A WINTER’S SONG at the American Cinema Editors Eddie Awards. She is the first Armenian to receive this honor since the awards were created.
Speaking to The Armenian Report after her win, Yvette M. Amirian said: “I definitely did not expect to win, but I’m overjoyed and so proud of what the team behind this film has been able to accomplish. It was truly a collaborative effort and I share this win with our entire cast and crew. I’m honored for an Armenian film to be recognized by a community like the American Cinema Editors that I am so grateful to be a part of.”

The American Cinema Editors Eddie Awards honor the most outstanding achievements in film and television editing each year. Editors are recognized for their skill in shaping stories, building emotion, and guiding the pace of a film. Yvette M. Amirian was nominated in the Best Edited Feature Film (Non-Theatrical) category.
This achievement is especially notable because the other nominated films were supported by major global platforms such as Apple TV, HBO Max, and Netflix, each backed by multi-million-dollar budgets. In contrast, A WINTER’S SONG was an independent production. It also marks the first time a film shot in Armenia has won an award from the American Cinema Editors.
In her closing remarks at the ceremony, Yvette M. Amirian said: “This was a small independent film made by a group of Armenian creatives who found each other during a difficult time in our country’s history. We shared a vision of helping tell a happier side of our story, and having it properly represent who we are as a country in the diaspora.”
