On April 29, Armenia celebrated International Dance Day with a joyful event held at Freedom Square in the heart of Yerevan. This special day brought hundreds of people together to honor and share the powerful beauty of Armenian traditional dance.

The celebration was organized by the National Academy of Song and Dance along with the famous Karin Ensemble, known for keeping ancient Armenian dances alive and strong. The square was filled with music, movement, and emotion as dancers, young and old, performed proudly in front of a cheering crowd.

Dressed in traditional clothing, performers moved in harmony, showing off dances that have been passed down from generation to generation. Each step, each hand movement, and each rhythm told a story of Armenia — its mountains, its people, its struggles, and its joy.

For many, this wasn’t just a dance performance. It was a reminder of who they are and where they come from.
