Armenia’s Only Paralympian Garik Melkonyan Finishes 15th in 10 km Race at Milano Cortina 2026

Armenia’s only representative at the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Paralympic Games, Garik Melkonyan, competed in the 10-kilometer race against some of the strongest athletes in the event.
A total of 29 athletes took part in the competition. Melkonyan faced tough rivals throughout the race and pushed through the demanding course to complete the full 10 km distance.
After the final results were calculated, the Armenian athlete finished 15th overall. Competing in the middle of a strong international field, Melkonyan represented Armenia as the country’s sole Paralympic participant at the games.
The Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Paralympic Games bring together athletes with disabilities from around the world who compete at the highest level in winter sports. Events like the 10 km race require endurance, strong preparation, and determination from every participant.
