Armenia has issued a strong condemnation of Israel’s overnight military strikes on nuclear and military sites across Iran, calling the attack a serious threat not just to Iran and the Middle East, but also to Armenia and regional peace.
In a statement released Friday, Armenia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said: “The unilateral attack against Iran is deeply concerning. Taking place ahead of the next round of U.S.-Iranian negotiations, it endangers peace efforts, as well as overall regional stability and global peace.”
The ministry called for an immediate stop to all military actions and urged respect for international law.

Armen Grigoryan, Secretary of Armenia’s Security Council, echoed the Foreign Ministry’s concerns during remarks at the 2025 APRI Armenia Forum in Yerevan.
“What happened today is not only a threat to Iran or the Middle East,” Grigoryan warned, “but also a problem for Armenia.”
He emphasized that Armenia faces “classic military threats” in its region and continues to work for stability. “What happened today shows how close these dangers are to us.”
Several commercial flights between Yerevan and cities like Tehran and Tel-Aviv were canceled.
While the Armenian public and officials reacted with alarm, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan flew to the Czech Republic on Friday morning to attend an international forum, showing the country’s commitment to staying engaged with the global community even during regional crises.

Iran is seen in Armenia as a crucial strategic partner and a buffer against the ambitions of neighboring Azerbaijan and Turkey. Azerbaijan has long pushed for a land corridor through Armenia’s Syunik Province to connect to its Nakhijevan exclave — a move strongly opposed by both Yerevan and Tehran.
In fact, Iran and Armenia held their first-ever joint military exercises in Syunik this April, which shows a clear signal of shared interests and military cooperation. Tehran has repeatedly warned that any attempt to cut off its border with Armenia would cross a red line.
As tensions rise, Armenian officials are making it clear: this is more than a conflict between Israel and Iran — it’s a regional crisis with real risks for Armenia.
