Armenian Actor Samvel Tadevosyan Receives Golden Globes Beacon Award

Armenian actor Samvel Tadevosyan has been honored with the Golden Globes Beacon Award at a ceremony in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, recognizing rising talent in film and television across Central Asia and the Caucasus.

Tadevosyan received the award during the inaugural Silk Road Tribute Gala, a new event organized by Vivid Strategies in partnership with the Golden Globes. The Beacon Award recognizes promising actors from the region and aims to introduce their work to a wider international audience.

Tadevosyan rose to prominence in Armenia for his portrayal of Tigran in the 2016 war drama Life and Fight, directed by Mher Mkrtchyan. The performance earned him Armenia’s State Prize and an Anahit Award from the National Film Academy of Armenia.

He has since appeared in several film and theater productions, including Bravo, Virtuoso!, Luka and the one-man show The Egoist.

Kazakh actress Shugyla Yeshen also received a Beacon Award at the Tashkent ceremony, which honored six artists from across the region.

The Silk Road Tribute Gala is a regional initiative associated with the Golden Globes, separate from the organization’s annual awards ceremony in the United States. Its goal is to bring greater international recognition to actors and filmmakers from countries whose film industries have traditionally received less attention on the global stage.
