Armenian Grandmaster Levon Aronian Wins Overall Title at 2026 Biel Chess Festival

Armenian Grandmaster Levon Aronian got the overall title at the 2026 Biel Chess Festival in Switzerland, adding another major international achievement to his already decorated career.

Aronian claimed the championship by recording the strongest combined performance across the tournament’s classical, rapid and blitz competitions. The festival’s overall winner is determined by cumulative results from all three formats.

The Chess Federation of Armenia congratulated Aronian on his victory, celebrating his latest success on the international stage and wishing him continued achievements in future tournaments.
