Armenian Lacrosse Coach Reads ‘Nothing Is Impossible for God’ on Day 9 of Bible Tour

Armenian Lacrosse co-founder and coach Johnny Mouradian continued his 12-day Bible reading tour across Armenia on Wednesday, sharing the biblical account of the angel Gabriel’s message to Mary during a stop at St. Gregory the Illuminator Church in Yerevan.

Mouradian’s ninth reading came from the first chapter of the Gospel of Luke, where Mary is told that she will give birth to Jesus, the Son of God.

“The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you,” Mouradian read. “Therefore, the Holy One to be born of you will be called the Son of God.”

The passage also recounts the pregnancy of Mary’s relative Elizabeth, who conceived a son in her old age despite previously being unable to have children.

“And behold, your relative Elizabeth in her old age has also conceived a son,” Mouradian read. “Because nothing is impossible for God.”

The reading concludes with Mary accepting what she has been told.

“Behold, I am the servant of the Lord. Let it be to me according to your word,” Mouradian read.

Mouradian delivered the Aug. 19 reading at St. Gregory the Illuminator Church in Yerevan, continuing a journey that has taken him to religious, historic and cultural sites across Armenia.

He ended the video with the invitation he has repeated throughout the biblical road trip.

“As always, bring a friend to church, bring a family member to church this Sunday and every Sunday,” Mouradian said. “Join the movement.”

Mouradian began the tour Aug. 11 at the History Museum of Armenia in Yerevan and has since released a new Bible reading each day.

Earlier stops included the Mesrop Mashtots statue outside the Matenadaran, the Tsitsernakaberd Armenian Genocide Memorial Complex and Geghard Monastery. On Tuesday, Mouradian visited Geghard and read from Luke 2, recounting Joseph and Mary’s journey to Bethlehem and the birth of Jesus Christ.

The 12-day biblical road trip is scheduled to continue through Aug. 22, with stops across Armenia, including Gyumri, Khor Virap, Oshakan, Vayk, Mount Hatis and Akhtala.

The journey is expected to conclude at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin in Vagharshapat, the spiritual center of the Armenian Apostolic Church and the seat of the Catholicos of All Armenians.

Mouradian created the tour to encourage Armenians to attend church and invite friends and family members to join them each Sunday.
