Armenian Teen Breaks World Record Performing 44 Pull Ups Between Moving Trucks

Armenia's 18-year-old Grigor Manukyan has etched his name in history, setting a remarkable world record for the most consecutive pull ups on a bar placed between two moving trucks. Grigor's incredible achievement not only shattered the previous record but carried a heartfelt dedication to the fallen heroes of the 44-day Artsakh war.

Underlining his immense strength and determination, Grigor performed an astounding 44 pull ups while the trucks maintained a minimum speed of 5 km/h (3.1 mph). This achievement surpasses the prior record of 35, previously held by "The Italian Butterfly" Tazio Gavioli.

"This record was not difficult for me due to my rigorous training," expressed Manukyan modestly, hinting at his preparation for the challenge. He revealed that he could have pushed further to reach 50 pull ups but chose to halt at 44, dedicating his accomplishment to the memory of those who sacrificed their lives during the tragic 44-day Artsakh war.

This isn't Manukyan's first brush with setting fitness records in unconventional ways. Last November, he set a record for the most chin ups from a helicopter within one minute, achieving a total of 36. His next endeavor? Setting a similar record for the most pull ups from an airplane in a single minute.

Manukyan's pursuit of records doesn't stop there. He holds multiple records, including the most four-finger pull ups with a 20 lb pack in one minute (31). He previously held the record for the most towel pull ups in one minute (33) until it was later surpassed by Matthew Caruana (Australia), who exceeded Manukyan's total by one.

Trained at the Dutsaznatun Regional Center of the Hi-Am Foundation in the town of Talin, Armenia, Manukyan hones his exceptional skills under the guidance of Roman Sahradyan. The sports center, despite the town's modest population of around 8,000, is a breeding ground for world record holders, with several students coached by Sahradyan achieving numerous Guinness World Records titles.

Sahradyan's exceptional coaching has led to the remarkable achievements of several students, each setting records in diverse physical feats, showcasing extraordinary strength, endurance, and agility. From pull ups to hula hoop rotations and static holds, these students are trailblazers in the world of fitness records.

With over two dozen students passionately pursuing new records, the horizon looks promising for these exceptional athletes, hinting at more records being shattered throughout 2024 and beyond. Armenia's talent pool of record breakers continues to grow, leaving an indelible mark in the realm of physical prowess and endurance.
