Catholicos Aram I Blesses Armenian Wrestling Champion Arsen Harutyunyan Ahead of World Championships

Catholicos Aram I of the Great House of Cilicia received Armenian freestyle wrestling champion Arsen Harutyunyan on Thursday, offering his blessing as the athlete prepares for major international competition this fall.
The meeting brought together the Armenian spiritual leader and one of Armenia’s most decorated active wrestlers. Their conversation focused on Harutyunyan’s career, his upcoming competitions and the responsibility of representing Armenia on the international stage.
Harutyunyan is a four-time European champion and has won four bronze medals at the World Championships. He is also a two-time U23 world champion and has represented Armenia at two Olympic Games, competing in Tokyo and Paris.

His next competition is scheduled for Sept. 19, when he is set to compete in a RAF League bout. Harutyunyan is also preparing for the World Championships on Oct. 24, where he will seek a world title.
Aram I wished Harutyunyan success in the competitions ahead and offered his blessing as the wrestler continues his international career representing Armenia.
