Karen Aslanyan Wins Bronze at European Wrestling Championships in Tirana

Armenian wrestler Karen Aslanyan has won a bronze medal at the European Greco-Roman Wrestling Championships held in Tirana, the capital of Albania.

Competing in the 63 kg division, Aslanyan delivered a strong performance in the bronze medal bout. His opponent was Poland’s Mayirbek Salimov. The Armenian wrestler dominated the match from the start and secured a clear 11:0 victory, leaving no doubt about his superiority on the mat. With this result, Aslanyan earned a place on the podium and added another achievement to Armenia’s growing medal tally at the tournament.

The championship in Tirana has brought together some of Europe’s top Greco-Roman wrestlers, with athletes competing across multiple weight categories. Aslanyan’s performance stands out not only for the medal but also for the decisive nature of his win in the final bout for bronze.

In another bout involving an Armenian athlete, Manvel Khachatryan competed in the 55 kg weight category for a bronze medal. He faced Bulgaria’s Stefan Grigorov. Khachatryan was unable to secure the win and lost the match with a score of 1:3, narrowly missing out on a place on the podium.

The results reflect a mixed outcome for Armenia in these two categories, with one medal secured and another opportunity falling just short. The competition in Tirana continues, with Armenian wrestlers aiming to build on this result and bring home more medals from the European Championships.
