Diplomatic Talks Underway: Armenia and Azerbaijan Foreign Ministers in Meeting with German Counterpart in Berlin

Meeting between delegations led by Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov are underway in Berlin. The talks, which began on February 28 and are scheduled to continue until February 29, were arranged following an agreement reached during a tripartite meeting in Munich on February 17, 2024. The Munich meeting involved Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.


The spokesperson of the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ani Badalyan, confirmed the initiation of the meeting in Berlin. The event marks a significant step in ongoing diplomatic efforts to address regional concerns and enhance cooperation between Armenia and Azerbaijan.



Ahead of the official discussions, the foreign ministers of Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Germany—Ararat Mirzoyan, Jeyhun Bayramov, and Annalena Baerbock—took a walk, captured in footage released to the public. This informal pre-meeting interaction emphasized a collaborative atmosphere, creating a sense of openness among the participating nations.


German Foreign Minister Baerbock delivered brief remarks to the press, highlighting the importance of the talks and the shared commitment to constructive dialogue.
