Team Armenia Adds New Medal as Yerevan Hosts Europe’s Best Shooters

Armenia won another medal on the third day of the European Shooting Championships held in Yerevan. The competition brought together top shooters from across Europe, and Armenian athletes once again reached the podium in the moving target event.

In the mixed team competition of the moving target, Armenia was represented by two pairs. The first pair included Gohar Harutyunyan and Gor Khachatryan. The second pair was made up of Lilit Mkrtchyan and Hayk Minasyan. Both teams competed strongly against other European countries in the challenging moving target discipline, where shooters aim at a target that moves across their line of sight.

Mkrtchyan and Minasyan advanced to the final round. In the final, they faced the Ukrainian pair of Victoria Rybalova and Danilo Danilenko. The match was competitive, but the Armenian team lost with a score of 6:3. As a result, Mkrtchyan and Minasyan became silver medalists, adding another important achievement to Armenia’s results at the championship.

The bronze medal went to the Finnish team of Aaro Vuriman and Ida Hikilaen, the Armenian Shooting Federationreported.

Earlier in the championship, Lilit Mkrtchyan achieved a major milestone. She became a four-time European champion in the moving target–normal running competition. Her continued success has made her one of Armenia’s leading shooters in this discipline.
