Armenia's Foreign Minister to Travel to Turkey Once Again to Participate in the Antalya Diplomatic Forum
Armenia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ararat Mirzoyan, is set to travel on a working visit to Turkey. Mirzoyan will attend the Antalya Diplomatic Forum, an event that marks his second participation in the forum.
Scheduled for March 1-3, 2024, the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, hosted by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, is organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey. The forum will see the participation of heads of states and governments, ministers, diplomats, business leaders, academics, think-tankers, and representatives from youth and media circles.
The theme for this year's forum is "Advancing Diplomacy in Times of Turmoil." The choice of this theme is to address the myriad global challenges that characterize our world today. From ongoing conflicts and acts of terrorism to irregular migration, the rise of xenophobia and Islamophobia, unforeseen risks posed by artificial intelligence, climate change, natural disasters, pandemics, and widening socioeconomic gaps – the forum aims to delve into these pressing issues. However we wonder if they also plan on addressing Armenophobia, Azerbaijan’s ongoing occupation of indigenous Armenian lands, and the humanitarian crisis that was created in September 2023 due to the mass exodus of Artsakh (Nagorno Karabakh).
The forum's primary objective is to serve as a platform for a thorough reflection on the turbulent period our world is undergoing. The multifaceted discussions will focus on finding peaceful solutions to the challenges at hand. Notably, the erosion of trust in the rules-based international order is identified as a concerning trend, undermining the predictability of the global environment in which states operate.
Armenia's participation in this diplomatic forum shows a commitment to engaging in global discourse and finding cooperative solutions to shared challenges. Minister Ararat Mirzoyan's presence highlights Armenia's dedication to contributing constructively to the ongoing dialogue aimed at navigating through the complexities of the contemporary geopolitical landscape.
